Your book or essay is your passion project. It deserves an editor who can jump aboard and give it the same love you’ve devoted to it since day one. Let’s make sure we’re a match made in literary heaven.
My job is to make your work the best it can be. I am committed to great communication with all my clients to ensure you’re comfortable with your book in my hands! When we discuss what kind of edit you need, we will also figure out a timeline for the project. I utilize the Track Changes function in Microsoft Word so that you can clearly see all of my queries and emendations.
I offer reasonable rates within industry standards (as shared by the nationally respected Editorial Freelancers’ Association) but I can be flexible, as I understand that some authors and publishers have set budgets for editorial work. I wear many hats – please see my explanations of different types of edits.
Please let me know if you would like to package my services for a more flexible rate. I accept payment by Zelle, PayPal, or check or money order (local only).
Unsure what kind of edit your book needs? No worries, I’ll make my recommendation after assessing an excerpt.
Before plunging into a project, I insist on completing a free, no-obligation sample edit of your manuscript. Doing so allows you to see exactly what kind of editing style you can expect from me and helps both of us determine if we will be a good match for your goals. If you are unsure of what form of editing you need, a sample edit that showcases my recommendations will help with that decision as well. I request 1,000 words from the middle of your manuscript for this sample.
If required, I will also complete a provided copy editing or proofreading test to demonstrate my skills.
